· Provide expertise and solutions in the areas of finance, accounting, tax, risk management, insurance, contracts, endowments, and investments · Partner with the Chief Financial Officer to prepare committee meeting materials, communications, and ongoing deliberations with committee chairs to meet committee goals (Investment, Audit & Ethics, Finance & Administration, Employee Benefits) · Supervise, lead, and develop the Business Office · Prepare all internal financial statements, reports, and reconciliations including researching and resolving issues · Review and prepare monthly and quarterly reconciliations as well as manage the timelines of monthly closes with the Business Office · Partner with the Chief Financial Officer to prepare and analyze the annual budget and multi-year financial projections, investigate budget variances, and work with internal constituents to support strategic and sustainable programs · Implement and monitor payment authority practices and maintain cash controls · Monitor and manage all endowment and investment reporting with third-party investment consultant · Provide analysis and projections for the short and long-term operating and capital expenditure budgets · Oversee, review, and prepare required documentation for the audits of the School’s financial statements and 403(b) retirement plan and all related tax and regulatory filings (e.g., IRS Forms 990, 990-T, 926, 5500, etc.) · Prepare and submit annual surveys with several types of financial and operational information for organizations such as NAIS, ISAS, NBOA, INDEX, S&P, Commonfund, and Cambridge Associates · Collaborate with the Development and External Affairs office to determine appropriate classification, recording, and treatment of charitable gifts · Manage the school’s insurance coverage, policy renewals, and claims, including property, casualty, liability, etc. · Develop and present various employee training initiatives related to finance and business office operations · Review, update, edit, and solicit management input on policies and procedures detailed in the Faculty and Staff Handbook, and Record Retention policy, ensuring compliance with employment law and consistency with best practices · Other duties as assigned |
